Learning Support Assistant - Level 1 (Permanent)

Fairfields School is a community day special school for pupils aged 3 to 11 years.  The school meets the needs of pupils who have significant, severe or profound learning difficulties and sensory impairments.  Some of our children may have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.  The school is situated in a large well-maintained grounds close to the centre of Northampton.  Work with us and you will be part of an ambitious team who want to make a real difference.

We are currently looking to appoint LSAs to join our amazing staff team.

Please note, a level 2 position would be considered for candidates with the right experience.  

Contract: Fixed Term for 12months (possible permanent position available)

Location: Fairfields School, Trinity Avenue, Northampton, NN2 6JN

Working Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Salary Range: From £22737 - £23114. FTE (Pro-rata £17178.37)

Co-opted Governor

Do you want to become involved in your local community? Do you have the time, skills, energy and commitment for the rewarding and fulfilling role of a school governor? If so, we would love to hear from you!

We are looking for people with a commitment to education, passion for learning and wanting to make a real difference to the lives of children, who are available to meet around six times per year.

The role of a Governor

Governors play a vital role in providing support to the headteacher in maintaining and developing the school’s strategic vision, ensuring accountability and challenging robustly where necessary – acting as a ‘critical friend’.

We’re looking for people with:

  • A background in finance, HR, data analysis or business.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to raise challenging questions and hold leaders to account.
  • Good listening skills

We are looking for people to bring their life experiences to the role and not necessarily education experts.
